Privacy policy

Your account

Sign in with Apple supplies a stable account identifier used to recover your Debattle identity. We store your chosen display name, account identifier, accepted community-rule version and session records. The app does not request your Apple email address or password. Apple authorization tokens needed for account deletion are encrypted on the server; app session tokens are protected in the device Keychain.

Voice and transcripts

Your microphone opens only when you choose to speak. Voice is relayed through the Debattle server to room participants using encrypted connections. Voice calls are not end-to-end encrypted. Debattle does not store raw room audio as files. Participants can hear you and may make their own recordings, which Debattle cannot prevent.

When enabled, transcription converts your speech to text shared with the room. Public discovery exposes room titles, language, format, current participant display names, occupancy and status. Private room invitations should be shared only with intended participants. Room transcripts and frozen debate result rosters are available to authorized room members, not public discovery.

Optional AI and Groq

Groq processing requires separate permission. In Practice, finished recordings are sent through Debattle to Groq for transcription; requested coaching sends your motion and the clearly described speech excerpt. Practice audio and text are not saved by the Debattle server.

In debate rooms, each speaker decides whether their finished recordings may go to Groq. Whole-round AI review requires all recorded debaters’ permission and uses the room’s submitted transcript, motion and format. The service processes the complete supported transcript in bounded stages. It withholds results when evidence is incomplete or cannot be verified. Debattle keeps no competitive rating from these results.

Unsent audio remains in device memory and is discarded when capture is cancelled, the app backgrounds, or consent is revoked. Data already sent cannot be recalled. Groq has its own retention practices, including limited retention for reliability or abuse investigation. Read Groq’s data policy. Apple on-device processing, when available and selected, stays on the device until you choose to share a room transcript.

Storage and retention

• Room content expires seven days after a round finishes, with an eight-day maximum room lifetime.
• Apple-account sessions expire after 30 days. Signing out revokes the current session; deleting an account revokes all its sessions.
• Reports are retained for up to 90 days for reviewing abuse. The operator can inspect retained room context and transcripts when investigating a report. Active suspensions can retain a hashed account identifier for up to 365 days to prevent repeat abuse, including after account deletion. Room removal can retain a hashed account identifier until that room expires (up to eight days) to prevent rejoining after account deletion.
• The app can keep a local journal, verdicts, and recovered speech text until you delete them. Other participants’ saved copies are outside the operator’s control.

Service providers and security

Railway hosts the server and database. Apple provides sign-in; Groq processes only opted-in AI requests. These providers may process data outside your country. Hosting infrastructure receives connection information such as IP addresses and operational request metadata. Debattle uses this information for security and usage limits. The app contains no advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs, and we do not sell your personal data.

Your choices

You can browse without an account, use voice without cloud AI, revoke room cloud permission, delete local records, and delete your account in Your corner → Delete my account. Deletion removes your account and server-held speech data, subject to the limited abuse-prevention retention above. You can also request access or deletion assistance through support@mans.team. Identity verification may be needed to protect your data.

Children and changes

Debattle is not designed for children under 13. Do not create an account if you are below the minimum age required in your country. If you believe a child’s information has been submitted, contact the operator. Material changes to processing will be reflected here and, where needed, in renewed in-app consent.
